New Odeon cinema in BH2 is pure luxury!

I don't go to the cinema enough. I often went to the cinema in West12 shopping center in Shepherds Bush or Westfield across the road when I lived in London, and it was always an easy and fun occasion. We'd sneak food in my massive handbag, spend around 5 minutes arguing over which seats to take (Mum would complain that she didn't want to sit too close and get a crick in her neck, David would want to sit allll the way at the back for some unknown reason, Dad wanted to sit at the end of an isle, Kayleigh would just sigh, and I just want to sit maybe 20% away from the screen in the middle, prime viewing seat.), eat half the popcorn before the film starts and comment 'that looks good' at every film trailer. It's great fun. 

Some people see going to the cinema as a nostalgic thing nowadays. I suppose because you can get the latest movies on your tv, sticks, apps, downloads, or any other form of digital copy, so what's the point in forking out money to go and see a film once?

The answer? An experience. 

When I go to the cinema, I like to sit in a nice chair, watch a new movie on a good quality screen, eat some tasty snacks and feel comfortable enough to be absorbed in whatever I'm watching. Especially if its a movie that I've been waiting to see for a long time, I want to really enjoy it.  

Now with Odeons new cinema in BH2, I can have all of these things and even more. Some of the new and innovative features are beyond what I expected when visiting on their gala evening with Laura from MaxandMummy. 

The foyer is a large room with a multitude of places to buy snacks and beverages, all the chocolate you could ever want. BUT - if that doesn't tickle your fancy, then make your way up the tron-like escalators. 

Right behind you lies a magical sight, on the wall in red luminous letters spells the word "Bar". A glass of Baileys and a movie sounds good right about now. 

Usually the plan for an evening out to the cinema is food, then movie, or vice versa. If you don't have the time to have some food then the standard choice for something warm is hotdogs or nachos. Bit boring to be honest. And as a pescatarian I'm left with just the one option. Wouldn't it be nice to go into the cinema with some proper food with real flavour? Something that doesn't taste like processed ew? Like, I don't know... pizza? And not just pepperoni or mozzarella.

I'm gonna tell you right now, the Fungi pizza is my favourite. I haven't even tried anything else on the menu but I know it's the best. Mushrooms, garlic, rosemary, mozzarella, cheddar and tomato. The second its in your mouth its an instant burst of flavour, like proper pizza should have. So pop up to the bar, order some savouries, have yourself a cocktail or two and munch away looking over Bournemouth. (if it were day time I'm sure you'd have a lovely view in this picture, unfortunately my camera doesn't do it justice, but look at that couch! I did a quality control test on that couch, its a good couch.)

Or! If you're running late or just don't fancy having a sit down meal but you're still hungry, feel free to just take your food with you! Soon enough, you can have pizza whilst watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2. I will 100% be doing that, guaranteed. 

And don't worry about sitting in uncomfortable cinema seats for 2+ hours, comfort is high priority in the new iSense screen. 

Like, press-a-button-and-all-of-a-sudden-you're-pretty-much-lying-down-on-your-couch-eating-pizza comfy. I'm not kidding. A little table that pivots to make eating easier and your clothes safer from crumbs, a plush combined double seated sofa for you and a friend to share, and a 9 million pixel screen for the best quality to watch the movie of your choice.

For those of you with tiny children with far too much energy to even entertain the idea of sitting down for over a hour, Odeon now has a 'kids screen', which I think is a fantastic idea. A smaller room with a soft play area in the front (I also did a quality control on this area, the shark is the best) to keep your Duracell bunnies busy. 

Odeon have done very well to make watching films at the cinema a worth while experience, I know that this is going to be my regular cinema from now on. 

Blood terrifying.

The Walking Dead, I don't know one person who isn't a fan of the show. The character development is flawless, the actors dedication to their roles, the zombies, the sets, the music, everything is so well done I love it. Robert Kirkman is a god and so when I saw that another graphic novel of his was being made into a tv show I had to watch it. 

Starring one of my favourite actors, Philip Glenister from Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, Outcast is a story about possession. A man called Kyle Barnes has been suffering from the constant possession of those close to him, and when a young boy gets possessed in his town, he teams up with the towns reverend, Reverend Anderson, to deal with the situation. Kyle is then determined to search to answers as to why these things have been happening his entire life. 

I've only watched the first two episodes so far and read the first graphic novel, and I'm already into this. Definitely a lot more scary than The Walking Dead despite the lack of decrepit corpses shambling about, and it still has Kirkmans explosive signature. I'm really excited to see how this story progresses and how the show differs from the graphic novels.

I only really got into Bake Off last year. And ever since then, when I almost cried at Mary Berry's small interview after the glorious Nadia Hussain rightfully won, I've been in love. As a kind-of sort-of maybe-okay baker myself, I love watching other people bake and getting any tips and tricks to me to use in the kitchen myself. Although to be honest, it's kind of a bad idea because they make it look so easy and then I get way to cocky, and end up crying into my sunken chocolate cake wondering why did I decided to do a 5 tier snowman cake in the first place. 


Basic cakes are about my limit. I've never been one to make a work of art with icing, fruits, or the many many macarons that were made in GBBO 2015. I think 'homemade' cake is about the least insulting I can describe them as. Although, for lack of presentation I usually make up with taste! In any case, I'm really looking forward to this years Bake Off! The puns, oh god, the puns. All the innuendos, the faces, the drama! The passion that people put into their limited time to create something magical, is inspirational to watch. It's always fun to watch people who do something they love. And it's such a euphoric moment when you've been rooting for someone, and they win! Nadiya is a fabulous woman. I don't even know her and I would let her into my home and have a natter. One of the most genuine people on tv, and a brilliant family person. And I can tell you that because I've read her cookbook!

I don't think anyone can successfully compete Nadiya's pure talent and imagination this year, but I'm willing to bet there's gonna be some great competition! I'm so excited! YAY BAKE OFF!

I didn't expect to love this!

Tonight after a long day at work, mum, my uncle Jim and I went to go see Suicide Squad at the cinema! This is a spoiler free post, so don't worry!

So obviously I love Harley Quinn. I feel like Margot Robbie played her really well, and I look foward to seeing her more in any future films. I guessing it would be a Batman film but it would be awesome to see maybe a 50/50 from The Joker and Harley/Batman. 

This is definitely a DC film that I would watch again, and that's a big thing to say for me. Bar The Dark Knight, no DC film has been amazing. But Suicide Squad was funny, not too long, enough story to actually fit the length of the film, popular music, (which isn't always needed in a film but I think DC have finally caught on that instrumental isn't the be all and end all in dark films.) and some fantastic actors. 

I loved Cara Delevinge as well. She was so cool as the 'Enchantress'.

4* film, would recommend.

I'm so excited for this!

So who else has been waiting patiently for the Gilmore Girls revival? I've been binge watching the show on Netflix, (I'm literally watching it now whilst writing this haha) and I'm on Season 4 episode 14. I'm still waiting for Luke and Lorelei to actually be a thing, I know it must happen. I'm not overly fond of Jason? Is that even his name? I don't know, he's just been there and I've been trying to ignore him. 

Sam- sorry, Dean is starting to look more like Sam in Season 1 of Supernatural, and that pleases me. Speaking of Supernatural, I've been rewatching the show with Mum and we're on season 9! So we're very close to catching up! 

Whilst I definitely can't choose between Sam and Dean from Supernatural, it's Dean all the way in Gilmore Girls. As the show comes back on November the 25th of this year, I'm sure I'll be finished by the time that comes around. Although apparently season 7 is terrible? I'll have to wait and see before I make judgement. 

It's nice to see that all the actors and actresses are all coming back for this though! I'm super excited to see Melissa McCarthy as Sookie and Jared Padalecki as Dean.

Televisiiiiioonnn. 

So! Being the person I am I couldn't just have one obsession. I have many obsessions. Shows like Sense8, Daredevil, That 70's show, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Sherlock, the list goes on. 

Usually it's me binge watching stuff on Netflix, but CEX is one of my favourite places to buy boxsets that aren't available on Netflix. 

There's lots of things that I want to watch and lots of things that I'm in the middle of watching. Hopefully I can fiddle around with this website and make a list of all my current watches.

I have a lot of feelings over some of these shows, so expect some screaming. Okay, lots of screaming.
